Andy Murray reveals he will retire from tennis this year

Andy Murray announced he will quit tennis at Wimbledon: the Scot fought back tears in his pre-tournament press conference – and left the room at one point – before admitting he is close to the end.
The three-time Grand Slam champ, 31, said: “I have been struggling for a long time. “I have been in a lot of pain for about 20 months now. I have done everything I could to get my hip feeling better and it hasn’t helped loads. I am in a better position than I was six months ago but I am still in a lot of pain. It has been tough. “I am going to play. I can still play to a level – not a level I am happy playing at. It is not just that. The pain is just too much really. I don’t want to continue playing that way. I have tried everything I can. “I spoke to my team in December – and I said I can’t keep doing this.
