The heartbreaking defeat came after the tennis sensation revealed that his career is almost at an end due to ongoing problems with his hip. But in a new post on Instagram , Murray has hinted that he may be able to return to the court once again. He captioned the photo: "I underwent a hip resurfacing surgery in London yesterday morning...feeling a bit battered and bruised just now but hopefully that will be the end of my hip pain." He then joked: "I now have a metal hip as you can see in the 2nd photo and I look like I’ve got a bit of a gut in photo."
Murray’s surprise Instragram post comes after he hinted to fans that he could return if a hip operation went well.
Speaking after his Austrailian open defeat, the 31-year-old said: "Maybe I’ll see you again. I’ll do everything possibly to try. If I want to go again, I’ll need to have a big operation where there are no guarantees I will be able to come back from. I will give it my best shot.
